Blogs Earn Too! Blog Ad Networks

LYNNIE VERSION

Hi! I’m Lynnie! Like writing more than filming? There’s a way for you too! Today I’m explaining blog ad networks.

How they work

If you write blogs, recipe sites or how-to articles, you can earn through ad companies. Grown-ups call them ad networks. They’re the middle person between advertisers and website owners. They put ads on lots and lots of websites, and share the money with the owners. That’s how a blog can earn money from every visit!

What they do for you

They find advertisers, place ads and pay you. Your job is to write content that brings visitors again and again!

Common ad networks

As more people visit your website, better ad networks open up. Here are some, from beginner-friendly to fancy. Rules change a lot, so always check each one’s own website before applying!

Google AdSense

The easiest to join. No big visitor number needed! But it usually pays less per visitor than fancy networks. Lots of new bloggers start here.

Ezoic

Another easier start for growing websites, with no strict minimum for its basic level. It uses AI to put ads in the best spots. A nice step before Mediavine or Raptive!

Mediavine

One of the most loved networks for lifestyle topics, like food, travel, home, parenting and money tips. It’s known for paying well per thousand visitors (grown-ups say RPM) and helping creators a lot.

Its rules changed! In 2026, the main program asks for about 5,000 dollars of ad money per year. And its Journey program takes growing websites from 1,000 visits a month, from countries like the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Tip: grow with Pinterest!

Lots of bloggers get many visitors from Pinterest. And Pinterest is really different from other apps!

A post on Instagram or Facebook is usually seen for a day or two, then poof, gone from people’s feeds. But a pin on Pinterest can keep bringing visitors for months, even years! That’s because Pinterest works more like a picture search box than a social app. People search for ideas, and it shows good pins, no matter how old.

For blogs about food, home, travel or parenting, a tall, pretty pin for every new post is one of the best ways to grow! Our Pinterest visual search article gives you the basics.

Grow with search too

Search engines still bring lots of blog visitors. Write helpful articles that answer clear questions, use clear headings, and keep your site fast. Our SEO for beginners article explains how.

How much do blogs earn?

It depends on visitors, topic, where readers live, and the network. Fancy networks often pay a lot more per visitor than beginner ones. That’s why lots of bloggers move up step by step! So focus first on steady visitors who find you for real.

Three oopsies

  1. Too many ads on a brand-new blog. It gets slow and annoying!
  2. Chasing visitors with low-quality content. Networks say no.
  3. A slow website. It hurts search AND ad money.

A story

A blogger writes about cheap family trips. She starts with Google AdSense while she’s small. As Pinterest and search bring more readers, she joins Journey by Mediavine.

Two years later, her ad money is enough for the main Mediavine program. And she earns way more per visitor! Bon voyage!
