Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you about starting an online business, step by step. And about a mountain path with ropes!
What’s a Via Ferrata?
Via Ferrata is Italian. It means “iron path.” Fancy!
It’s a climbing path on a mountain with metal ladders, ropes and little bridges stuck into the rock. You clip yourself on, so you don’t fall. It makes scary parts of the mountain safer.
Ten years ago, the lady who made Lynnaider climbed a real one in Switzerland. And it gave her an idea for the name!
Why a guide helps
From the bottom, the mountain looked SO big. But the metal clips and a nice Swiss mountain guide made her feel brave and safe. No jumping to steps that were too hard, but always trying new things. Little by little, she could do more and more.
Starting an online business feels a lot like that climb. A good guide shows you the next clip before you need it.
You can skip some steps
Lynnaider only shows you the steps you really need. That’s what a guide is for!
The five steps
Here are the five steps. Each one answers a big question that grown-ups ask themselves.
- Potential & Purpose. What could my idea be, and why am I doing this?
- Offering & Income. What will I sell, and how will the money come?
- Profile & Setup. Where will my business live online, and what do I need?
- Legal & Safety. Which rules are there, and how do I keep everybody safe?
- Traffic & Content. How will people find out about me?
They’re all explained simply. No techy stuff needed!
Spend tiny, not big
A good guide also stops you from spending too early. You need very little money to start. You’d be surprised! Most of the ways have free starts or small one-time costs.
Monthly fees before anybody knows you just make you worried. Start free, bring visitors, make it better later.
You can stay hidden
Every step can be done from behind the curtain. No face needed!
Let’s climb with an example!
Let’s say you want to sell candles you made yourself.
- Step one: You write down what you have. A skill, some wax, a little money and some free evenings.
- Step two: You decide you sell a real thing you can touch, and you pick a first price.
- Step three: You open one shop, like on a big online marketplace that already has buyers.
- Step four: You check the marketplace’s rules and the basic laws for selling where you live.
- Step five: You start showing your candles in places where candle-loving people already hang out.
Every step is small. No big money, no team!
How to use the guide
And remember: step five, traffic, is the one you keep doing forever. The other steps are mostly done once, then fixed up a bit. Traffic is what keeps people finding you.
