Just Two Things! Affiliate Marketing Setup

LYNNIE VERSION

Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you about affiliate marketing setup.

The setup checklist has five kinds of setup. Affiliate marketing is one of the lightest of the ten ways to earn: only TWO are always needed!

You don’t make, keep, or send the product. Yay, a short list!

1. Your offer

Your offer is bringing a possible buyer to the product, with your free content. A review, a recommendation, a tutorial, a comparison, or just a link in the right spot. No price or checkout of your own!

Give people a good reason to click! And sound like YOU.

Tips for a strong offer:

  • Show the product really being used, with honest good AND bad points.
  • Say who it’s great for, and who it’s not for.
  • Put the link where people need it, like right after a comparison.
  • Keep most of your content link-free, so people keep trusting you!

2. Partner agreements

Without this one, affiliate marketing can’t work! Before you can earn anything, you join an affiliate program and get your own special link or code. That agreement connects your recommendations to your thank-you money.

It’s a real promise!

You usually join online, without talking to anyone. But the agreement still counts! It decides how and when you get paid, what you can and can’t say, and when your account could be paused or closed.

Read it carefully before your first link! How to choose affiliate programs explains what else to compare.

Legal pages: only sometimes

If people go through YOUR website, you need a privacy page. Your site probably collects visitor info with cookies or counting tools.

Depending on your country’s rules, you might also need a cookie banner. Tools like Termly can help make a simple privacy page. But always ask a grown-up legal expert to check it! Cookie banners can be added with free apps.

If everything happens on social media, the app’s own privacy page covers your visitors. Then you don’t need your own! Privacy policies and website cookies explain more.

Always say it’s an affiliate link!

EVERY time you share a link, you have to say it’s an affiliate link. Write a note, say it in your video, or use a label like Instagram’s paid partnership tag. That protects your fans AND your trust!

Payments: not needed!

You never collect money from buyers. The brand handles the whole sale! To get your thank-you money, you just put your bank or payout details in the program’s dashboard.

Only you and the program can see it.

Shipping: not needed!

You’re not the seller, you keep no stock, and you’re not responsible for the product after someone buys. The brand takes over from the moment of buying.

Your job ends at the click!

Small and private

Affiliate setup is usually free! No monthly payments before you have visitors. And no part of it needs your face. Secret Agent approved!
