Five Shop Friends! Online Store Examples
LYNNIE VERSION
Would you like to read this article in more grown-up words, still easy to understand? Jump here.
Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you about online store examples. Let me introduce five pretend friends who each run their own online shop!
They’re made up, but based on real little businesses. None of them needed lots of money. And several never show their face!
These characters are invented, just for learning.
What they have in common
An Own Online Shop means making real things, or buying things you’re allowed to sell, and selling them online. All five do that! Their products are real things, so they all have to think about sending them.
Look at each one with three questions: What do they sell? Where? How do people find them?
Meet my five friends!
Carter the Cube Crafter
Carter pours pretty marble-looking cubes from eco-friendly resin. Customers pick their own colors, and Carter ships each order himself. He only makes a cube once someone buys it. Smart!
His shop is a social store on Instagram, with payment links. Every day, he posts short videos of himself making the orders. When free visitors slow down, he uses social media ads.
Carter shows how little you need!
Giselle the Crystal Crusher
Giselle always loved crystal bracelets, but not the round-bead kind. She guessed other people felt the same! So she buys fillable medals and raw, colorful crystal chunks, which she crushes and fills herself.
She posts short videos of making them, with an English voice made by AI. So she reaches people all over the world without talking on camera!
Giselle shows how to go viral without your face!
Steve the Plant Enthusiast
Steve fell in love with growing new houseplants from little cuttings. After he retired, he turned it into a business! He makes starter kits with colorful water tubes, rooting powder and a mini plant guide. He even 3D-prints the tubes.
A fulfillment partner stores and sends his kits. That’s a company that does the shipping for you! Steve uses marketplace ads on the partner’s site to bring visitors.
Shops aren’t just for young people!
Illa the Planner Seller
Illa found a super useful memo board that’s popular in Japan, but not well known elsewhere. She buys different versions and sells them in packs in her social store. She doesn’t make them. She picks and bundles them!
Posting regularly brings her free visitors. And she asks customers to join her email newsletter when they first buy. Now automatic emails bring them back to buy gifts for friends and family!
That’s the power of bringing people back!
Caesar the Desk Harmonizer
Caesar is a carpenter who LOVES matching wooden office spaces. He picks and sells sets of desk things that match, so no woods clash. Because he’s a carpenter, people trust his choices!
He has his own website and uses Meta ads with simple slow-motion videos. He also sells on Amazon, with Amazon storing and sending his sets, plus ads there. Two paths at once!
Small and private
None of them needed lots of money to start. Free tools, no monthly payments before you have visitors. You’d be surprised how little it takes! And they do their own marketing, no agency needed.
Several of them never show their face. Secret Agent style!

What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)
Are these real people?
No, they’re pretend! But based on real little businesses.
Do I need my own website?
No! A social store with payment links or a marketplace works too.
Are there step-by-step lessons for starting each of the ten ways cheaply?
Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.
Can I run a shop without showing my face?
Yes! Show your hands, your workshop, or just the product.
Where can I get help starting a shop on a small budget?
Lynnaider shows you how to start an Own Online Shop for free, or for very, very little money. You’d be surprised! And a free robot helper called Lynnaider Compass helps you step by step!
