Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you about content strategy for beginners. A strategy is a plan!
A good content plan starts with a few clear choices. Let’s explore the six magic questions!
Question 1: How much of me do I show?
Remember Secret Agent, Lynnaider’s pillar about not having to be in the spotlight? Here are five levels of showing yourself online:
- Level 1: Nobody knows who’s behind the business.
- Level 2: No face, but your hands or your shadow are okay.
- Level 3: Someone who supports you, and LOVES being on camera, appears instead of you. With their permission every time, of course!
- Level 4: People get to know your personality, without seeing you. Maybe just your voice. Or no talking, and your body language does the talking!
- Level 5: You’re fully in the spotlight! You show up, talk, and proudly share what you made, or what you think.
Showing yourself can build a strong connection. Lots of creators tell beginners: “Just talk to the camera! The awkward part will pass.” But for lots of people, feeling awkward isn’t the only reason they don’t want to show their face. And that’s okay!
Question 2: Do I tell my story?
Each level has two choices:
- Option A: Keep the focus on your business, not on you.
- Option B: Share your own story, experiences, struggles and lessons. That can make people trust you even more!
Question 3: What’s my hook?
A hook is the first second or two that makes someone STOP scrolling. It’s your first impression!
There are three kinds:
- hooks you see
- hooks you hear
- both together!
Start noticing hooks in ads and posts you see!
Question 4: What feeling does my content give?
That’s the second impression, after the hook made someone stay. Content usually does one of three things:
Wow people. It relaxes, motivates, or shows what’s possible. You don’t need to squeeze your product in! People often like your content first, then find your products. Behind-the-scenes content is super powerful for art and craft businesses.
Teach people. It shares useful knowledge, often step by step. Not pushy selling, just being helpful!
Make people laugh. Funny stories, jokes, or eye-catching videos. And cartoons can replace your face!
Question 5: Where do I film?
Pick a spot that’s always easy to get to! Look around:
- Surfaces: wood, blankets, plants.
- Rooms: your kitchen, or a corner of your bedroom.
- Places: your porch, or a lake you visit a lot.
It makes things easier, and familiar builds trust!
Question 6: Local or worldwide?
Usually, don’t mix local and worldwide on one profile. Content in a language other than English usually fits one country, or a few.
In short
Decide how much you show, if you tell your story, your hook, your feeling, your spot, and your audience. Three or four clear answers are enough to start!
All of it works with a phone and free tools. And question one shows it: you don’t need your face!

Should I tell my story?
You can choose! Both ways work.
Are there step-by-step lessons for starting each of the ten ways cheaply?
Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.
What is a hook?
The first second or two that makes people stop scrolling.
What are the three feelings content can give?
Wow, teach, or make laugh!
Why use the same spot?
It’s easier, and people trust what they recognize.
