Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m explaining how to get brand deals. It’s all about being seen. Twice!
Every way to earn needs visitors. Grown-ups call it traffic. In brand deals, traffic has two jobs.
Two jobs
Job one: fans see you. More people who watch and care makes you more valuable to brands.
Job two: brands see you. When you want deals, brands have to notice you. That’s where the money actually happens!
Your fans make you valuable. Brands seeing you turns that into deals.
Job one: growing your fans
Most of your effort goes into fun, shareable content that apps love to show around. Our going viral on social media article explains how apps decide. The secret ingredient? Posting regularly!
Over time, people learn what you’re about. Maybe something you know a lot about, a way of living, or your special way of seeing things. Then brands know exactly where you fit!
Real fans, not bought ones
For brand deals, free ways to grow are super important. Brands want real people who really react. Followers from paid ads or tricks often don’t react, and that makes your numbers look worse.
Job two: brands seeing you
Fans alone don’t bring deals. Brands need to see you too! That’s why pitching and being on influencer platforms matter so much.
Make it easy: a clear bio, a contact email, and an up-to-date media kit. Some brands search for hashtags and topics, so use ones that fit your posts.
For UGC
In UGC, brands care less about your fans and more about great content, again and again. So focus on showing your collection to brands, not on getting tons of followers.
Put your best work where brands look: on influencer platforms, in a simple collection, and on a social page that shows your style. Every new piece is practice AND proof!
Keep it real
Being real matters for both. Real content keeps your fans interested, and makes brands trust you with their name. Only show things you’d truly recommend!
That’s also why most of your content shouldn’t be paid. Your normal content is what your fans come for. It’s what makes your paid content believable.
Be patient!
Brand deals rarely come in the first weeks. Most creators build for months first. Use that time to get better!
Three oopsies
- Chasing followers instead of reactions. Fewer fans who care beat lots who don’t!
- Waiting for brands without ever pitching.
- Changing your style all the time. Brands need to know what you stand for!
A story
A creator posts short videos about tidying your home for little money, without showing her face. She posts four times a week for six months, always bright and tidy. Lots of her fans react!
She makes a collection on two platforms and pitches three storage brands every week. In month seven, her first UGC deal! In month ten, a sponsorship!
