Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you how to find an online business idea. Lots of grown-ups think this is the hardest part.

Some wait for an idea nobody has EVER had. They wait and wait. For years! Lynnaider has a calmer way. It’s called “your version of a simple idea.”

Nothing new under the sun

Before, people asked, “What can I sell that nobody near me has?” Or, “How can I think of something nobody EVER thought of?” That’s a lot of pressure!

Online, it helps to just say it: there’s nothing new under the sun. Whatever you think of, somebody’s probably already doing it. And that’s okay! Being the only one isn’t the most important thing anymore.

Your version of a simple idea

So stop trying to find an idea only YOU could have. Instead, take one very simple idea. A simple thing or job you could imagine selling.

Then add yourself to it! Your thoughts. What you like. Your style. The hard things you’ve been through. What you’re good at. Keep adding, as long as it’s really you.

And suddenly, nobody can copy it! That’s your version of a simple idea.

Your face is just one ingredient

That’s why you don’t need your face in the spotlight. Your face is one ingredient. A strong one! Lynnaider doesn’t say don’t use it. But it’s only one.

You can add so many other ingredients that no two businesses online come out the same. Like baking! Same flour, but everybody’s cake tastes different.

Examples

  • Weekly meal plans is a simple idea. Your version could be quick veggie meals for busy parents, written in your calm style.
  • Handmade jewelry is a simple idea. Your version could use materials from where you live, in a style you love.
  • Language lessons is a simple idea. Your version could help grown-ups who need one language for work, with examples from your own job.

The base is normal. The mix is special!

Let go of the stress

So when the scary question comes, “What’s my business idea?”, just answer: “It’s my version of this simple idea: …”

Start with one

Pick one idea to start. Build on it, step by step. Don’t worry too much about whether it’s the “right” one.

You’ll probably see that bits of your other ideas can join later. A first idea is a starting point. It can grow in lots of directions, like a tree!

Start small and cheap

Try a small first version. You need very little money. You’d be surprised! Most ways have free starts or small one-time costs. No monthly fees before anybody knows you!

Spend your energy showing your idea to people instead. You can learn that yourself, no agency needed. What people say will teach you more than any planning.

What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)

What does “your version of a simple idea” mean?

Take a normal idea that already exists, and add so much of yourself that it becomes yours.

What if my idea already exists?

It probably does! That’s okay. Your mix of you makes it different.

Do I need to show my face?

Nope! Your face is one ingredient out of many.

What if I have lots of ideas?

Start with one. The others can join later.

How do I know if my idea is good?

You can’t know perfectly before. But if it’s about things you really care about, you’ll keep going. That’s a great sign!

Can I change my idea later?

Yes! Most people do. Starting teaches you more than thinking.

Is there a cheap way to start?

Yes! Lynnaider shows you how to start each of the ten ways for free, or for very, very little money. You’d be surprised! And a free robot helper called Lynnaider Compass helps you step by step!

Will there be step-by-step lessons for each of the ten ways?

Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.
