Brands Pay Me?! Brand Deal Examples
LYNNIE VERSION
Would you like to read this article in more grown-up words, still easy to understand? Jump here.
Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today we start way number seven: sponsorships and UGC. Grown-ups call them brand deals. And I brought brand deal examples! Five pretend creators.
A brand deal means a brand pays you to make content. Content means photos, videos or writing. In a sponsorship, you also share it with the people who follow you. In a UGC deal, the brand uses it on its own pages. UGC means user-generated content. Big words!
You don’t need to be a famous influencer. Look at what each creator SHOWED the brand.
These creators are made up. The real brands are just examples. They have nothing to do with these characters.
Fairy the Nature Sound Collector
Fairy makes calm videos with nature sounds, for people who feel too busy and noisy inside. He joined TRIBE, a website that connects creators and brands. He picked relaxing brands, like Bose (quiet headphones) and Patagonia (outdoor clothes).
His trick? A demo video with his sounds over the brands’ own pictures!
Jazmine the Book Summary Maker
Jazmine is great at turning stories into pretty picture summaries. She joined Aspire, another creator website, and picked brands like Barnes & Noble and Moleskine (notebooks).
She sent a pretend picture showing how her style would make their ads better. The brands could imagine it right away!
Teddy the Explorer
Teddy explores old empty buildings in his YouTube videos and tells their stories.
He got his first sponsorship by writing to GoPro through its own creator program. He showed his big group of adventure-loving fans and his special storytelling.
Agnes the Head Spa Owner
Agnes learned all about caring for hair and scalp in Japan. Now she has her own head spa. Her guests are so happy, they let her film them for her TikTok!
She connected with Shiseido on a website called Partnerize, and got her first sponsorship. She always sends a video of her spa using the brand’s products, which she really uses and loves.
Ariana the Pink Gardener
Ariana makes dreamy nature videos, all about the color pink! She joined Collabstr and picked brands that have nothing to do with gardening, like Glossier (skincare) and Pinkberry (frozen yogurt).
She sent sample videos with their products in her pink garden. So pretty! And she uses AI too, in her own creative way.
What we learn
One: a special style matters more than tons of followers, especially for UGC. Nature sounds, book pictures, old buildings, a spa, a pink garden. You’d recognize each one!
Two: they all SHOWED instead of told. A demo, a pretend picture, a sample video. Brands decide faster when they can see it.
Think outside your box!
Ariana is a gardener, but she pitched skincare and frozen yogurt! Fairy records nature, but he pitched beauty products. Their style made them interesting, not their topic.
A surprising match is easy to remember!
Your turn!
Make your own sentences: “My style is … I’d pitch … and I’d show them …”
Then make one sample video or photo with something you already own and love. That’s the first piece of your collection! Grown-ups call it a portfolio.
What’s next?
The next article explains sponsorships and UGC for beginners. The whole module is in the book on our products page. Want a grown-up to help with your first pitch? Go to our services page.
What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)
Which example fits beginners best?
Ariana’s or Jazmine’s: UGC on a creator website. No big audience needed!
What’s a brand deal?
A brand pays you to make content, and sometimes to share it.
Are these real people?
No, they’re made up.
What makes a pitch stand out?
A clear idea, a sample in your style, and why you fit.
Can I get deals without showing my face?
Yes, especially UGC!
Do I need lots of followers?
For sponsorships, it helps. For UGC, your content matters most.
Will there be step-by-step lessons for each of the ten ways?
Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.
Can I start brand deals for free or almost free?
Lynnaider shows you ways that cost nothing, or very little. You’d be surprised! And a free robot helper called Lynnaider Compass helps you step by step.
