audience monetization examples, explained by Lynnie

Paid for Watching! Audience Monetization Examples

LYNNIE VERSION

Would you like to read this article in more grown-up words, still easy to understand? Jump here.

Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today we start way number ten, the last one! Content as your main business. Grown-ups also call it audience monetization. And I brought audience monetization examples. Five pretend creators!

Here’s the funny thing: none of them sells anything! They earn money because people watch, read and stay.

These creators are made up, just for learning. The real platforms and programs are just examples, and have nothing to do with these characters.

How it works

You earn straight from your content. Either through money programs on apps, or through ad companies on your website. But first you need enough people watching or reading!

Ask three questions for each one: Where do they post? How did they grow? Who pays them?

Nadia the Recipe Blogger

Nadia started a food blog three years ago. Two or three cheap, yummy Mediterranean recipes every week! She grew slowly but surely, with posts that search engines like, and with Pinterest.

After 55,000 visits a month, she applied to Mediavine, an ad company for blogs. Accepted! Now ads on her blog earn money while she keeps cooking.

Leon the YouTube Teacher

Leon is a high school teacher who makes short history videos on YouTube in his free time. After two years, he passed 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours. So he joined the YouTube Partner Program!

Now every video earns ad money. He doesn’t sell anything. And his old videos keep earning, because new people find them in search!

Zoe the TikTok Creator

Zoe loves fashion that never goes out of style. She calls it her “All-timers Wardrobe”! She finds really close, cheaper versions of expensive pieces, so anybody can get the look. She posts short videos a few times a week.

After she reached TikTok’s follower and view numbers, she joined the Creator Rewards Program. Now she earns from it!

Ben the Travel Writer

Ben worked abroad for years. He writes long blog articles about places, with his own photos. He grew by writing about little-known places that big travel websites ignored.

First he got into Ezoic, an ad company. Then Mediavine, when more people visited. His best articles keep bringing readers, and money, years later!

Gemma the Laughing Anyway

Gemma didn’t plan to have fans. She started posting on Facebook during a hard time, because filming herself laughing helped. Her videos are messy and fun: reactions to funny posts, her own spin on trends, a little nervous and always a bit chaotic.

People loved her because they recognized themselves! When she reached Meta’s numbers, she joined Meta’s money program for creators.

What we learn

One: keep going BEFORE the money comes. Nadia posted for three years, Leon for two! Every program needs a minimum number of people. No shortcuts!

Two: content people search for keeps earning. Blogs and videos found in search earn for years!

Three: being real brings fans, like Gemma.

Before the money

Each one posted for months or years with no ad money, finding their style. So plan for this waiting time from the start!

Your turn!

Make your own sentence: “I’d post … about … on …” Then ask: could I keep doing this for two years, even before money comes?

What’s next?

The next article explains content as your main business in more detail. The whole module is in the book on our products page. Want a grown-up to help you plan? Go to our services page.

What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)

Do I need fancy equipment?

Nope! A phone and nice daylight are enough to start.

What’s audience monetization?

Earning straight from your content, once enough people watch.

Are these real people?

No, they’re made up.

Do they sell anything?

No! They earn from attention.

Do I need a topic?

It helps a lot! People AND apps understand you better.

Can a personal, unplanned account earn?

Yes, like Gemma!

Will there be step-by-step lessons for each of the ten ways?

Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.

Can I start for free or almost free?

Lynnaider shows you ways that cost nothing, or very little. You’d be surprised! And a free robot helper called Lynnaider Compass helps you step by step.
