Light or Heavy? What Each Online Business Model Needs to Start

Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you what each online business model needs to start.

Some ways to earn only need a home and an offer. Others need helpers, payments, rules pages AND shipping! Lynnaider has one picture that shows it all.

The picture

The picture shows two things:

  1. Which homes each way can use.
  2. How “heavy” each way is. That means how many extra setup things it needs.

Think of it like a backpack. Some ways are a light backpack. Some are a heavy one!

Which homes fit which way?

Remember the three kinds of homes? Marketplace, website, and social media with a social store. Some ways work with all three. Others fit best with one or two.

Freelancing works great on a freelance marketplace. Affiliate marketing, sponsorships and audience monetization lean on social media or content websites. An online shop can live in all three.

Light backpacks

Ways with few marks are light! They usually need a home, an offer, and maybe one helper agreement. Like freelancing on a marketplace, or affiliate marketing on social media. The platform or the helper takes care of payments and delivery.

Heavy backpacks

Ways with lots of marks are heavy. An online shop on its own website needs an offer, rules pages, payments and shipping. Dropshipping needs all five! A supplier agreement, an offer, rules pages, payments, and being fully responsible for delivery in your customer’s eyes.

Light grey ones

These depend on your setup. Print-on-demand needs shipping stuff if it’s on your own website. But not on a print-on-demand marketplace! The modules explain each case.

Should I pick the lightest?

Not always! How heavy a way is matters. But so do what you love, what you’re good at, and who you want to help.

A light way you get bored of is worse than a heavy way you love!

If you’re starting next to a job, light ways are often easier with just a few hours a week. You can add a heavier way later, when you have more experience.

Heavy doesn’t have to mean expensive

More setup things means more chances to spend money. But you don’t have to! You need very little money to start, even for heavy ways. You’d be surprised! Most setup things have free or cheap options.

Picking a marketplace as your home can make your backpack lighter too, because it does rules and payments for you. No monthly tools before anybody knows you!

Don’t forget visitors

The picture shows what you need to start. But every way also needs step five: bringing visitors. A perfect setup with no visitors won’t earn anything!

So plan your first way to bring visitors while you set up. And you can learn it yourself, no agency needed.

Mixing ways

Look for ways that reuse what you already built. Then each new way adds money without doubling your work!

And none of the setup things need your face.

What’s next?

That’s the end of Lesson T3! Next is Lesson T4, about rules and staying safe online. Each of the ten ways to earn has its full setup in its own module, in the book on our products page. Want a grown-up to help you choose? Go to our services page.

What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)

Are there step-by-step lessons for starting each of the ten ways cheaply?

Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.

What does the picture show?

Which homes each way can use, and how heavy each way is to set up.

What does “heavy” mean?

How many extra setup things a way needs.

Are the light grey ones optional?

They depend on your setup. Sometimes needed, sometimes not.

Should I pick the lightest way?

Not always. Pick one you’ll love doing!

Where do I find the details for each way?

In each way’s own module in the book.

How can I start for free or almost free?

Lynnaider shows you how to start each of the ten ways for free, or for very, very little money. You’d be surprised! And a free robot helper called Lynnaider Compass helps you step by step!
