Chatty Robots! Generative AI for Small Business
LYNNIE VERSION

Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m telling you about generative AI for small business. That’s the AI you can chat with!
Lots of grown-ups with little businesses use it now. Let’s see how it works!
What is generative AI?
Generative means “making new things.” Generative AI can make pictures, videos, sounds and more.
The most famous kind is chat AI. That’s what Claude, ChatGPT and other chat apps do. You type or say a question, and it answers in normal words.
How does it answer?
These AI helpers learned from a giant pile of writing, lots of it from the internet, up to a certain day. Then, when you ask something, they make the answer that’s most likely to fit. In the style you asked for!
Basically, it guesses which word comes next. Again and again and again, until the answer is done. That’s why it sounds so smooth.
But it’s also why it can be wrong! An answer that SOUNDS right isn’t always right.
How it can help your business
AI can save you hours every week. Here’s how:
- Writing first drafts: product descriptions, emails, blog plans and pin descriptions.
- Brainstorming: niche ideas, product names and post topics.
- Explaining: words you don’t know, or how an app works.
- Organizing: turning messy notes into lists and plans.
- Translating: first versions of texts for customers in other languages.
That makes doing your own marketing much easier. No agency needed!
Watch out!
AI can sound SUPER sure and still be wrong. Grown-ups call it “hallucination.” Funny word! The AI doesn’t know what it doesn’t know. And it won’t always tell you when it’s unsure.
So treat every answer as a starting point. Check facts and numbers. Be extra careful with rules, money and health stuff. And think about how your posts make readers feel. That’s your job, not the robot’s!
Keep your own voice
Customers can often tell when something was 100% written by AI. So use AI for the plan and the first draft. Then add your own stories, examples and way of talking. That’s what makes your business YOU, even if you stay hidden.
Asking good questions
Good questions get good answers! Tell the AI who you are, who your customers are, and what you need. Ask for something specific, like “five ideas” or “100 words.”
Not quite right? Ask it to change one thing. Small, clear instructions work better than long, wobbly ones. Over time, you’ll collect questions that work great for your business.
Careful with customers
If AI helps you answer customer messages, read every answer before you send it. Customers need correct info about orders, delivery and refunds. A quick check keeps your shop trustworthy!
Cheap and private
Free versions of most AI tools are plenty for beginners. You need very little money to start. Paid plans can wait until you know exactly which jobs they’ll save time on.
And AI is great for staying off camera. It can help with written guides, drawings and voice recordings. No face needed!
What’s next?
The next article shares five truths about all ten ways to earn, including why AI can be wrong. The whole chapter is in the book on our products page. Want a grown-up to help you use AI? Go to our services page.
What grown-ups usually ask (and I answer)

Maybe! If lots of people want them. Join the waitlist and you’ll know first.
Do I need to understand the techy parts?
Nope! You learn best by using it for a real reason.
How do the four circles fit together?
Automation is the biggest. AI overlaps it. Machine learning is inside AI. Deep learning is inside machine learning.
