Hi! I’m Lynnie! Today I’m sharing five true things about making money online.
There’s LOTS of hype online. Hype means making things sound way more amazing than they are. So here’s the honest stuff, true for all ten ways to earn.
Truth 1: Every way needs work, always
Some grown-ups think some ways are “effortless.” Nope! The kind of work is different, but no way keeps going without you.
With freelancing or sponsorships, you have to show up and do the job, again and again. Usually made special for each client. Your time is part of every sale.
With digital products or affiliate marketing, the delivery happens by itself. But you still have to keep bringing visitors! A digital product in a shop nobody visits won’t sell.
So the work just moves from delivering to marketing. And the good news? You can learn marketing yourself. No agency needed!
Truth 2: Ways grow differently
Some ways are tied to your time. In freelancing, you earn per job or per hour. And there are only so many hours in a day!
Other ways can grow bigger without you working more, once the first work is done.
One isn’t better than the other. They fit different people and times of life.
Truth 3: Apps make the rules
Most ways use other companies’ apps. Big online shops, social media, search engines and payment apps. They make the rules of the game. And they can change them, without asking you!
An account can get blocked. What the app shows people can change. Fees can change.
So over time, it’s smart to not put all your eggs in one basket. One of the best things you can do is build your own email list. Then you can always reach your people directly!
Truth 4: AI can be wrong
AI helpers do more and more jobs, like writing, designing and talking to customers. But AI can say wrong things in a super sure voice. Grown-ups call it “hallucination.”
Remember: the AI doesn’t know what it doesn’t know. And it won’t always tell you when it’s unsure. So use it as a good start, but always use your own brain before you post, send or do anything.
This matters most for facts, numbers, rules and money. And for how your posts make people feel. That’s your responsibility!
Truth 5: Starting costs aren’t the same
Some ways cost almost nothing to start, like freelancing or making a digital product. Others, like sponsorships or dropshipping, might need some money first, for apps, product samples or ads.
And for most ways, there’s at least one way to start with very, very little money. You’d be surprised! Free accounts, free listings and small one-time costs are enough. No monthly fees before anybody knows you. That just makes your tummy worried, right when you need to feel calm.
One more truth!
You don’t have to be famous to earn online. You can stay totally private!
